The much-anticipated film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar, is set for a grand release on January 10. Kiara Advani plays the female lead, and Dil Raju bankrolls the film. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government has permitted benefit shows and ticket hikes.
The midnight 1 AM benefit show ticket has been priced at ₹600, while special shows at 4 AM have also been approved. The ticket price hike includes an extra ₹175 (including GST) for multiplexes and ₹135 (including GST) for single-screen theaters. From January 11 to January 23, five shows will be allowed daily at the increased prices.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on the Telangana government to see whether it will follow suit. Recently, the Telangana authorities declared they would not allow benefit shows or ticket price hikes for upcoming films.
Given the competition during the Sankranti season, this decision could significantly impact Game Changer’s regional box office performance. Moreover, Dil Raju is also the TFDC Chairman and we have to see if he can convince the government.
