What’s Going Wrong With Daaku?

In today’s era, digital promotions have become the backbone of creating buzz for any film, regardless of its stature. Among the Sankranti releases, Anil Ravipudi and his digital team have been leading the pack, making waves across social media with their unique and engaging approach. Their strategic use of digital platforms is grabbing attention and setting an example. Similarly, Game Changer has had its own well-planned promotional strategies, in line with any other pan-India film.

However, the situation is starkly different for Daaku Maharaj. Despite Nandamuri Balakrishna being in the dream phase of his career with consecutive blockbusters and a Sankranti release on the horizon, the film’s digital promotions are falling flat. Even though they conducted many events to promote the movie, some how these promotions failed to bring enough buzz. Despite having an interesting trailer, the team appears clueless about their approach. Forget unique strategies; they are struggling even to push basic content to the audience.

A pre-release event held in Dallas, featuring lavish spending and the presence of Union Minister Pemmasani, failed to create any significant buzz among the audience. Balayya is known for huge NRI fan base, but still failed to pick the pace there. While producer Naga Vamsi carries the promotions on his shoulders and continues to steal the spotlight with his witty responses to the media, the film’s digital outreach remains underwhelming. Balakrishna, on his part, has been thoroughly supporting the promotions, appearing on shows like Unstoppable to generate some interest.

Comparatively, Game Changer’s USA event was a resounding success, while Daaku Maharaj’s promotional events are barely making an impact with audiences. This lack of momentum is concerning, especially since the film is expected to deliver much bigger openings than Balakrishna’s recent hits, due to its higher pre-release business. Team Daaku Maharaj, it’s high time to pull up your socks and push the content. A banner like Sithara Entertainments, with its strong lineup of films, should make its mark on digital platforms. Filmmakers must recognize the importance of strengthening their digital approach.
