Shankar Moves On to Indian 3

Director Shankar’s Indian 2, featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, was one of the biggest disasters of Indian cinema. Before the release of Indian 2, Shankar announced that there would be Indian 3 as well and also released its trailer at the end of the second part. However, after Indian 2’s disastrous result, everyone expected that Indian 3 would be shelved. Some reports suggested that it would have a direct OTT release.

However, Shankar confirmed that the film will have a theatrical release. In his recent interview, Shankar said that there is six months of work left for Indian 3. Apart from a few scenes left to be shot, there is a huge VFX work that needs to be done. Once everything finishes, the makers may announce the release date.

As Shankar got done with the work of his latest release Game Changer, he confirmed that he will now focus on Indian 3. If everything falls in place, Indian 3 may hit the screens by the end of this year or earlier next year. Shankar also revealed that after Indian 3, he may work on the adaptation of historical fiction “Velpari”, which has been his dream project for a long time.
