Senior actor Vijaya Rangaraju has passed away on Monday. He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Chennai. Rangaraju began his career as a stage artist, transitioned to the silver screen and made a mark as a villain.
Just a week ago, he sustained injuries during a film shoot in Hyderabad and had traveled to Chennai for medical care. He is survived by his two daughters.
Rangaraju’s debut film was Seetha Kalyanam, directed by the legendary Bapu. However, it was Bhairava Dweepam, starring Balakrishna, that brought him widespread recognition and praise for his performance. His career witnessed another turning point with the movie Yagnam, where his villainous role earned acclaim.
Following this, he appeared in several successful films, including notable roles in Kannada and Malayalam cinema. Apart from his acting talent, Rangaraju was also skilled in weightlifting and bodybuilding.
Rangaraju’s contributions to Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema will be remembered fondly by the film industry. May his soul rest in peace.
