Producer Dil Raju gave clarity on the Income Tax Raids that happened at his residence and other properties over the last four days. He said that speculations were highlighted in the media and nothing of that sort happened during the raids. For the first time after IT raids, Dil Raju held a press meet earlier today. He said that everyone has been speculating and showing interest in these raids.
He said, “Back in 2008, IT officials raided my properties. After 16 years, they raided now once again. In the meantime, they surveyed my financial records thrice. IT raids on business people are common. Many reports in the media said that money and key documents were found in raids on my properties. Nothing of that sort happened. The officials didn’t find any illegal documents or money from me.”
I had Rs. 5 lakhs in cash, Sirish has Rs. 4.5 lakhs, my daughter had Rs. 6.5 lakhs and we had Rs. 2.5 lakhs in our office. In total, we had less than Rs. 20 lakhs in cash which was not an illegal amount. We showed documents as proof of all that cash. We haven’t invested or bought any properties in the last five years. We explained all the financial details regarding the 24 crafts involved in films. Our documents were right and we were declared clean,” he added.
Responding to the reports on his mother’s health, Dil Raju clarified that she was admitted to the hospital due to an infection in her lungs which caused her serve cough. He quashed the reports of her suffering a heart attack. “She is 81. She was in hospital for two days and is getting discharged now. Don’t speculate and highlight rumours in media,” he stated.
