Movie Theatres In AP
The Telangana High Court has directed that children under the age of 16 should not be allowed to watch movies in theaters and multiplexes after 11 PM across the state. The court issued this order after consultations with child psychologists and other concerned parties. It recommended that the state government regulate the entry of children into theaters and multiplexes, allowing them only after 11 AM or before 11 PM.
During a hearing on petitions related to the increase in movie ticket prices and the approval of special shows, Justice B. Vijayasen Reddy’s bench made these remarks. The court emphasized that allowing children to go out to watch movies at late hours, especially past midnight or in the early morning, can have a harmful impact on their physical and mental well-being.
The petitioner’s lawyer argued that watching films at odd hours could adversely affect children’s health. The court considered these concerns before issuing its ruling.
