Actor Sunil said that he gained immense worldwide recognition with the Pushpa series. He played Mangalam Seenu in Pushpa: The Rise and Pushpa: The Rule. Sunil went on to say that even Pakistani people admired him after watching Pushpa.
Speaking at the Thanks Meet of Pushpa 2 last night, Sunil shared an incident he faced in Spain. He said that when he went to Sapin recently for a film shoot, he once got out of the hotel for food. He said, “Generally, restaurants in Spain will be shut by 10 pm. I went to a petrol station at around 9.45 pm to buy some snacks. Unfortunately, the store was shut by that time. Then, we searched for nearby restaurants and found a small hotel named ‘Kabab Point’.” “Thinking that we would get Indian food there, we headed to that restaurant. It was almost 2.30 am at that time. When we went to the hotel, a person constantly observed me. Later, he came to me, showed Pushpa’s interval scene on his phone and asked whether it was me. I said yes,” he added.
“Then we got to know that it was a Pakistani hotel. The restaurant staff prepared delicious food for all of our team that night. I also spoke to that person’s family on a video call,” Sunil went on to add. Sunil said that Pushpa revived his career and showed a new path in playing villain roles. He said that because of Pushpa, he is now getting big offers in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
Sunil also thanked Allu Arjun for training him in the local Chittoor dialect while working on the film.
