Talk Of The Town: Chiranjeevi’s Candid Talks Backfire!

Megastar Chiranjeevi is known for his very well-articulated and sometimes witty speeches. But for the last few days, whatever he speaks is turning into a controversy. Be it the “PRP-Jana Sena” statement at the Laila pre-release event or his comments on his grandfather and son Ram Charan at the pre-release event of Brahmanandam.

At the pre-release event of Laila, Chiru stated that his Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) has transformed into the Jana Sena Party (JSP). After hearing his words, many netizens on social media trolled that even JSP would be merged into a major party just like how PRP was merged into Congress. Many neutral fans argue that Janasena is whole and sole efforts of Pawan. Last night, at the pre-release event of Brahmanandam, Chiranjeevi was shown the picture of his grandfather. Speaking about him, Chiru said that his grandfather was a great romantic (rasikudu).

“If he used to get bored of my two grandmothers, he would go to another house. I think he had three-four houses back then.” At the same event, Chiru also said that he has asked Ram Charan to give a grandson next time and not a granddaughter. He said, “I feel like ladies hostel warden when I am around my granddaughters. Our house is filled with girls. That’s why I asked Charan to give me a boy, who can carry our family’s legacy forward.”

Both these statements didn’t go well with people on social media who slammed Chiranjeevi for his alleged “sexist” remarks. While a user wrote, “Such things from superstar, comments show we are too backwards in logical thinking. People don’t understand, how such things are coming from their biased subconscious mind, which has been nurtured by patriarchs for many hundred years. Pathetic, that people still don’t understand.”

Another user commented, “Celebrity like him should be cautious what to say in public. It’s so (angry emoji).” With such widespread outrage on social media, fans opined that Chiru should be more cautious about his usage of words in the future.
