Before the release of Daaku Maharaj, the song “Dabidi Dibidi” created a storm on social media. The song faced heavy trolling, especially due to a particular dance move where Balakrishna taps Urvashi Rautela on her lower back. Many found the step inappropriate, leading to widespread criticism.
As soon as the song was released, social media was flooded with trolls targeting both Balakrishna and dance choreographer Sekhar Master. Adding fuel to the fire, Urvashi Rautela herself shared some of these troll posts on her Instagram, which became a hot topic of discussion.
Now, Urvashi has directly responded to the controversy. She stated that while shooting or even during rehearsals, they never found anything objectionable about the steps. She expressed surprise over the backlash the song received.
“We rehearsed for the song well in advance, and everything went smoothly. The choreography was done like any other song. I have previously worked with Sekhar Master on three songs, and when he explained the steps, I didn’t find anything uncomfortable. I saw them as regular dance moves. But after the song’s release, I was shocked to see the trolling on social media. I didn’t even get time to analyze why people criticized the choreography. During rehearsals, we never imagined such negative reactions. Interestingly, when we released clips from the shoot earlier, no one raised any concerns,” Urvashi said.
