2000 Cr Target for Spirit? What Sandeep Vanga Said

Sandeep Reddy Vanga quickly became one of the most celebrated directors in Indian cinema, thanks to the massive success of Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh, and more recently, Animal. The focus now is on his upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas.

In a recent interview with a leading Hindi media outlet, Sandeep briefly discussed the target set for Spirit and what he hopes to achieve.

The interviewer pointed out that Sandeep had delivered the biggest blockbusters for Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor. The question was then raised about Prabhas, who has Baahubali and Kalki to his name.

Sandeep responded, “If my film is meant to beat Baahubali, it will need to collect ₹2000 crore. That’s a huge target and beyond my understanding. All I can say for now is that I’ll focus on making an engaging and intriguing film, and then we will see what happens at the box office.”

Considering that Baahubali earned ₹1600 crore and Kalki nearly ₹1200 crore, it will be a big challenge for Sandeep to deliver the biggest hit of Prabhas’ career. However, Spirit is expected to be a major film at the global box office.
