‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam’s Rare Theatrical Feat in the OTT Era’

In this OTT era when even big films were struggling to survive in theatres and getting premiered on streaming platforms in less than three weeks, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam had a glorious theatrical run. The film has successfully completed 50 days in 92 centres today.

Before the 2010s, we used to hear movies running for 50 days, 100 days, and 175 days in theatres. However, the theatrical span of films started declining over the last 15 years. Only a handful of films had 50 days and 100 days of theatrical run. Now, Sankranthiki Vasthunam has joined that list.

Running successfully for 50 days in 92 centres is not a joke these days and director Anil Ravipudi should be commended for delivering such a promising product.

Sanraknthiki Vasthunam collected more than 300 crores at the box office and became the non-pan-India industry hit in Telugu. Starring Venkatesh, Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshi Chaudhary in lead roles, this movie had its television and OTT premiere recently. Sanraktniki Vasthunam is also expected to shatter all existing TRP records with its TV premiere.
