Intimate and sex scenes are common in Hollywood and world cinema but not in the Indian film industry. Star heroine Kareena Kapoor admits this fact and she feels that sex scenes are not important in taking the story forward. She went on to say that sex or sexuality is not seen as a human experience in Indian cinema.
Speaking in an interview with Dirty Magazine, Kareena said she feels sex scenes are not so important in taking a film’s story forward and it is not something which she believes is not required in the form of a story to show it. She said, “I know I might not be comfortable doing that on screen. I never have done it,” she said.
Kareena added that she is not ready to do such scenes in her career and that Indian audiences are also not open to them. “It’s just the way we look at the whole idea. We don’t look at sexuality or sex as a human experience. We have to start looking at and respecting that a lot more before we put it on screen. It’s my belief. Where I’m coming from is the fact that we’re still not as open as the West,” Kareena added.
On the career front, Kareena Kapoor was last seen in the movie Singham Again. She will be soon in Meghana Gulzar’s upcoming directorial, Daayra.
