Rajamouli Planning SSMB29’s Release On RRR’s Date?

Mahesh Babu and Rajamouli, two of the biggest names in the Telugu film industry, have joined hands for the keenly awaited jungle adventure, tentatively titled SSMB29. The film is rumored to be being made with a staggering budget of Rs 1,000 crore, making it the most expensive movie ever made in India to date.

SSMB29’s production began in January this year. Rajamouli has wrapped up two key schedules in Hyderabad and Odisha so far. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran have also joined the shoot in the recently concluded schedule. The unit is on a break at the moment, and the next schedule will begin in Hyderabad later this month.

Meanwhile, the industry grapevine is abuzz with speculations that Rajamouli is planning to release SSMB29 on March 25th, 2027. The date has a special significance, as it was on the same date that Rajamouli’s Oscar-winning action drama, RRR, was released in 2022. Match 25th falls on a Thursday, followed by the Good Friday holiday the next day. The film will also benefit from the Ugadi (Apr 7) and Ram Navami (Apr 15).

However, given the fact that Rajamouli is highly secretive about anything related to his movies, we will have to wait until the release plans are revealed by the maverick director himself. Post RRR’s stupendous success across the world and the Oscar honour, Rajamouli has been in talks with several Hollywood studios to facilitate a humongous global release for SSMB29.
