Thammudu Understood, Moved To Chiru’s Date?

Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom has been officially postponed to July 4th. Nithiin occupied the date earlier for his new film Thammudu. During the postponement announcement, the makers of Kingdom extended thanks to Nithiin and Dil Raju, hinting that team Thammudu will move to a different date. According to the sources, the makers of Thammudu are planning to release the film on July 24.

Initially, it was reported that Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara will hit the screens on July 24. But it now looks like Thammudu took that date because Vishwambhara may get postponed due to the delay in the VFX work.

Sitara Entertainments and Dil Raju’s SVC banner gel well. Both production houses have worked together in the past, too. So, at the request of the Sitara team, Dil Raju might have decided to push Thammudu to a later date. Interestingly, July 4th is a good date, with a reasonable number of films hitting the screens in June itself.

Thug Life, Hari Hara Veeramallu, Kubera, Kannappa, Sitaare Zameen Par, and other films will release in June. Kingdom is a pan-India film, and it needs a date that is free from heavy rush. With almost more than a month left for the film’s release, the makers can focus properly on the post-production works and re-recording. Meanwhile, as it looks like Thammudu will be delayed by three weeks, the makers will be focusing on using the gap well to promote the film extensively.

Directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, Kingdom narrates the tale of Sri Lankan war refugees. The backdrop is fresh on the Telugu screen, and the team is confident in the output as it would deliver a new experience to the audiences. Anirudh Ravichander would also have ample time now to complete the background score.

Thammudu is directed by Sriram Venu and features Nithiin in the role of an archer, a character he had never attempted before in his career. It features Saptami Gowda, Laya, Varsha Bollama and Swasika in key roles.
