Why Only Samantha for Citadel? Raj Responds!

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the versatile star heroines in Telugu who recently found success with the production of Subham. The film became a hit, and she is rumored to be in a relationship with the movie’s creative producer, Raj Nidimoru. Together, they worked on The Family Man S2 and also on Citadel: Honey Bunny web series. Interestingly, the Raj-DK duo helped Samantha during a rough phase due to ill health.

In a recent interview, when asked why Raj-DK had picked Samantha for the leading lady in Citadel, they revealed that Samantha has the potential to play an action hero.

“The role required a huge, versatile range. We take pride in the fact that we made an action star out of her. We had a homegrown female action star. It was for her, and it was written keeping in mind that this person can deliver. It was not fair that because of health reasons to keep her on hold. We supported her and waited for her to get better,” Raj said.

When asked about what inspired the team to pick her, Raj said, “Just to see her motivates so much. Nobody has a clue what goes on behind the doors and what someone has to go through to perform. The whole team was supporting, and we drew inspiration from each other.”

Also, DK said, “We do not want to compromise for the role and we already worked with her in The Family Man 2. We thought that it is worth waiting for her.”

With The Family Man 2, Samantha gained a lot of attention and appreciation. It was possible only because of the support Raj and DK have given. Similarly, they helped Samantha by offering Citadel Honey Bunny when she was facing health issues and struggling to stay active in films. It was a tough time for her back then but Raj-DK waited for her to recover to shoot the series.

Unfortunately, the series did not do well, leaving the fans in disappointment.
