The trailer of Vijay Sethupathi’s film ‘Ace’ was dropped by the makers on Monday. Offering a blend of action and comedy, ‘Ace’ portrays Sethupathy as ‘Bold’ Kasi, man without a plan, who lands in Malaysia in a typical desi style. The narrative seems to be certainly filled with deception and intrigue.
Ace not only offers a fresh story peppered with international appeal, it showcases the protagonist in a never-before character with a mysterious touch. Bold Kasi introduces himself to each new acquaintance differently. To one character, he claims his nickname originated from his boldness in confronting injustice. To another, he claims his name stemmed from his habit of stealing bolts and nuts of every vehicle that he makes away with.
And to others, the character boasts himself as an electric bolt between thunder and lightning.
The trailer gives a thrilling glimpse into a stylish crime comedy set against the vibrant backdrop of Malaysia. Directed by Arumuga Kumar, the story has some high-stakes gambling scenes, action-packed sequences, and there are moments of humour and romance to please other sections of audiences too.
Kasi’s journey to Malaysia appears to be caught up with some meticulously planned heist however he would never let others know his next move.
The looks of the trailer cut is enhanced with a good visual appeal thanks to Karan B. Rawat’s cinematography and Justin Prabhakaran’s music, complemented by Sam’s background score.
Ace features Rukmini Vasanth, Yogi Babu, and Divya Pillai in key roles. The film is set for a theatrical release on May 23 this year and will be available for streaming on Prime Video post the cinematic run.
