A major controversy is going on in the Telugu states over the exhibitors’ decision to shut down theatres to push for their demands. Even though they later backed down from that decision, the issue has not settled yet.
Meanwhile, there’s a discussion that a planned conspiracy might be behind the strike call, especially since Pawan Kalyan’s movie is scheduled to release in the second week of June. Pawan Kalyan himself took this issue seriously, which has caused a stir in the film industry. Top producers like Allu Aravind and Dil Raju have held press meets one after the other.
In yesterday’s press meet, one of Dil Raju’s comments became a hot topic. He stated that Rajahmundry Distributor & Exhibitor Atti Satyanarayana, who is also a Jana Sena Party member, was behind the theatre shutdown. The Jana Sena Party responded strongly to this claim. Today, the party released a press note canceling Satyanarayana’s primary membership. They also directed him to stay away from party activities until he proves whether the allegations are true or false.
In the same press note, Pawan Kalyan clearly mentioned that even if someone from his party is involved in the strike, action must be taken. Soon after the note was released, Jana Sena officially suspended Satyanarayana.
This entire theatre strike issue is creating waves in Tollywood. It seems that everyone involved might face serious consequences.
