Tollywood has fully embraced the culture of re releases these days. Cult hits of almost every star hero are being released in theatres again with fans, rejoicing the experience. The most recent example of the same was Mahesh Babu and Trivikram’s Khaleja.
Well, it appears that the re releases bandwagon is not going to stop anytime soon, and if anything, it’s only going to get bigger and better.
The latest updates are suggesting that the next big film to have a theatrical re release is Baahubali. Reportedly the makers of this action epic are contemplating the idea of merging the two parts and releasing an unprecedented unified cut of the film.
Notably Baahubali was earlier supposed to be shot in a single part, but was later split into two due to logistical reasons. So it must be interesting to see how Rajamouli originally envisioned the entire duology in a single stretch.
There is every chance that this film could set a new all-time record (ATR) in terms of box office collections for theatrical re releases.
But the issue here is that both parts of Baahubali were extensively televised already and people might have already watched it tens of times. This is going to be the only detrimental factor for the film.
But if the right amount of interest is generated, then there is a very good chance that this unified cut of Baahubali would set new unprecedented records.
