Deepika Padukone has officially joined the cast of Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi actioner, tentatively titled AA22xA6, starring Allu Arjun in the lead. The announcement was made by Sun Pictures with a striking promo video that introduced Deepika’s character in a powerful new avatar. This marks her first collaboration with Allu Arjun and second with Atlee, creating a huge buzz among fans and film circles.
The video revealed Deepika as a fierce warrior in a fantasy-meets-sci-fi world. Decked in a custom-made battle suit and armed with a sword, Deepika is seen riding a CGI horse with motion capture sensors attached to her body. The visuals tease a high-octane action role, with Atlee reportedly experimenting with looks for the entire cast on a blue-mat set.
The film is being positioned as a pan-India spectacle, blending action and science fiction on a grand scale. AA22xA6 also marks Sun Pictures’ first collaboration with a Telugu star, indicating the film’s massive scale and cross-industry appeal. This move further solidifies Deepika’s growing presence in pan-India cinema after her notable role in Kalki 2898 AD.
Interestingly, this announcement comes right after Deepika’s exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, which led to considerable speculation. While some reports claimed she made hefty demands, others defended her decision, citing her preference for shorter workdays due to her responsibilities as a new mother. Either way, her entry into AA22xA6 has swiftly shifted the spotlight back in her favor.
