‘Jr NTR Is a Human Machine With a Purpose’

Unlike his previous performances on the big screen, Jr NTR’s role in War 2 is going to engage audiences with a layered personality. Anaita Shroff Adajania, who styled Jr NTR for the spy thriller War2, says her primary work was to make the actor suit for the genre’s tone, ground him and keep the character realistic.

Anaita’s challenge was to retain the machismo look of Jr NTR and his swag that most of his fans love on the big screen. “The rawness to his screen presence looks as if a human machine is operating with purpose,” she said.

NTR is playing the baddie in the film opposite Hrithik Roshan who is a RAW agent. While designing the look of Jr NTR, the stylist was mindful of the fact that the appearance should be quite distinct from the protagonist’s. She says, the ‘RRR’ actor is a man who means business in the story. So he had to be dressed in black and brown with no excess and no fuss. It is quite direct, impactful and no-nonsense.

The teaser that was released last month certainly promised some high-stake action and dramatic sequences. But fans got slightly dejected over NTR’s entry in the story. Nevertheless War2 is one of the most-anticipated film for pan-Indian audiences.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film features Hrithik Roshan, alongside Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani. Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films is bankrolling the project with the screenplay written by Shridhar Raghavan. The music is composed by Pritam Chakraborty. The film is expected to hit theatres on August 14.
