Sekhar To Nagarjuna, Don’t Walk Like A Hero

Director Sekhar Kammula changed his style completely and is coming up with a unique action thriller Kuberaa starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna. As the movie is getting ready for release on the 20th of this month, the team is busy with aggressive promotional activities.

Nagarjuna reveals that the film Kuberaa is powerful and deals with hard-hitting truths that are increasingly relevant today. “People are more aware, more educated, and more informed about what’s happening around them, especially in areas like politics and the police system. But even then, it’s difficult for a common man to truly grasp the scale of things. We hear about scams of 10K crore or 15K crore, but those numbers don’t even feel real. I was shocked when I first heard the details of some of these scams from Sekhar.

Sekhar Kammula constructs a compelling societal model in Kuberaa, delving into the complex dynamics and struggles between the rich, the middle class, and the poor. The film thoughtfully explores the interactions between these layers of society, and it’s beautifully crafted.”

Nagarjuna recalled an incident that highlights Sekhar’s meticulous and realistic approach to filmmaking. “Sekhar is very particular about keeping things grounded. In one scene, he told me, ‘You’re walking like a hero, please tone it down a bit.’ I replied, ‘But that’s just how I walk!’ He then asked me to hunch my shoulders slightly. It’s those small touches that bring authenticity to the performance.”

Nag also revealed the one thing he told Sekhar before they began filming: “You have to live up to my expectations.”
