Nagarjuna Fans’ Reaction: Mixed, But Respectful

Kuberaa has made a solid impact at the box office on Day 1. After a quiet few weeks, theatres have come alive again, showing housefull boards across major centers. While it is too early to say how big the success will be, the response has given a huge boost to exhibitors. In regions like Nizam, bookings are extremely strong. In Hyderabad, occupancy is expected to stay above 80% through the weekend. Buyers in Andhra Pradesh are confident of a strong run, and the commercial scale is definitely on the rise.

Although Dhanush plays the lead, the spotlight unexpectedly shifted to Nagarjuna. His decision to take on a key role, even though the title did not revolve around him, sparked curiosity among fans. They were eager to see what made the role so special. Within minutes of the film starting, director Shekhar Kammula weaves the major story turns around Nagarjuna’s character. His screen presence is nearly equal to Dhanush in terms of duration and weight.

However, the lack of grand elevation scenes and the calm nature of his character left a section of fans slightly unsatisfied. Nagarjuna plays a composed and mature role, which may not have delivered the usual high-energy moments his fan base often looks forward to.

Nagarjuna clarified that he accepted Kuberaa purely because he believed in the story. It was never about stardom or market strategies. He gave a complete and honest performance as former CBI officer Deepak. Fans may take a little time to appreciate the depth of his character.

This is not a new choice for Nagarjuna. He has supported strong concepts in the past as well, even when his role was not in the front seat. Films like Adhipathi with Mohan Babu, Krishnarjuna with Manchu Vishnu, and Ninne Premistha with Srikanth showed a similar mindset. Kuberaa, however, stands out as something more refined. All eyes are now on his next film, Coolie, to see what level it will reach.
