On the occasion of World International Day Against Drug Abuse, stars from Telugu cinema like producer Dil Raju, Global star Ram Charan, and sensational Vijay Deverakonda gathered for a purpose. At the event, everyone expressed importance of staying drug-free and promoting awareness to protect the nation’s future.
Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Deverakonda said, “I live in my own world and often don’t know much about what’s happening outside. While I was shooting in Visakhapatnam, a police officer asked me to give a video statement against drugs. I took part in that campaign. Later, I came to know that there’s actually an International Day against Drugs, which surprised me.”
He added, “When I asked a few police officers, they explained more about it. After learning the details, I felt a strong need to create awareness among people about this addiction. That’s why I’m now taking up anti-drug campaigning as a personal responsibility. You don’t need a war to destroy a country getting its youth addicted to drugs is enough.”
He concluded saying, “Our country has a huge youth population, and that’s why some forces are trying to push drugs onto our youth. Once someone becomes addicted, it’s very hard to recover. If any of your friends are addicted to drugs, stay away from them. In life, what truly matters is health, money, and respect. There’s no point in doing things that can’t give you these. We should live in a way that brings pride to our parents.”
