Director Nitesh Tiwari is making Ramayana as his dream project with Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash playing the lead roles. It is mounted ambitiously by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus and 8-time Oscar winning VFX Studio DNEG, in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.
Introducing the prime characters of the movie, the makers released a glimpse that begins with describing the Trimurti-Brahma as the creator, Vishnu as the protector, and Shiva as the destroyer. But when their creation threatened to take over the three worlds, the war to end all wars began. Worshipped for 5000 years by 2.5 billion people, this is the immortal story of Ramayana- Rama Vs Ravanasura.
Ravanasura is the power and vengeance, while Rama is Dharma and sacrifice. The last frames of introducing Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, and Yash as Ravana offers gooosebumps. Sai Pallavi is Sita, Sunny Deol is Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey is Lakshman.
Director Nitesh Tiwari who previously made award-winning and commercial hits like Chillar Party, Dangal, Chhichhore, etc. showed his brilliance in handling the epic Ramayan. The visuals are of global standards, with top-notch VFX. AR Rahman’s score takes the visuals to another level.
The glimpse alone offered a great experience, setting sky-high expectations for the movie that will be released in two part. While the first part will be released for Diwali in 2026, the second part will be released for Diwali in 2027.
