Legendary actor Kota Srinivasa Rao passed away early this morning, leaving the Telugu film industry in shock. Among his closest friends was comedian Brahmanandam, with whom he shared the screen in over 100 films.
Their combo was a hit, whenever they acted together, laughs were guaranteed. Off-screen too, they were very close. Kota used to call Brahmanandam “Orey” in a friendly way, and Brahmi would reply the same, even though Kota was older.
When Brahmanandam saw Kota’s body, he couldn’t control his tears. He came along with actor Rajendra Prasad to pay his respects. The sight of Brahmi crying at Kota’s funeral moved many.
Later, speaking to the media, Brahmanandam said, “We worked in so many films together. We spent long days shooting, and we were like a team. I still can’t believe he’s gone.”
He praised Kota for being honest and fearless, and said, “No one can match his talent. This is a big loss for the film world and for all of us.”
