Filmmaker Puri Jagannath is one of the few directors who commands a fan base equal to that of any top star in Telugu. In recent years, his track record was shattered with his form going South. Despite making a creative comeback with iSmart Shankar, he lost it all with back-to-back films Liger and Double iSmart. Now, all he hopes to revive his career is with his next film with Vijay Sethupathi. The interesting addition to the project is Mahathi Swara Sagar.
Mahathi Swara Sagar is reportedly on board to score the film’s music, and this marks his first collaboration with Puri Jagan. However, Puri knows Sagar from a long time, as Mani Sharma’s son. Until recently, Puri was working with Mani Sharma, and he shifted his gears now.
For iSmart Shankar, it is Mani Sharma’s audio track that elevated the film. After that, they were supposed to reunite for Liger but owing to creative differences, Mani exited the film. Later again for Double iSmart, the duo collaborated. But Double iSmart did not work as a musical album.
Now, Sagar is expected to bring the unique freshness for the project with Vijay Sethupathi which also features Samyuktha and Tabu. Tentatively titled as Beggar, the film’s first look will reportedly come out soon. The film’s shoot is currently in progress. It is being produced by Charmee Kaur, Puri Jagannadh, and JB Narayan Rao Kondrolla under the banners of Puri Connects and JB Motion Pictures.
