Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is ready to start shooting his next film, Spirit, with Prabhas. After Animal released in December 2023, fans expected Spirit to go on floors by December 2024. But as July 2025 ends, shooting has not started yet. Sandeep recently said filming will begin in September 2025. However, there are hurdles.
Prabhas is currently busy with two big projects. He is shooting Hanu Raghavapudi’s historical fiction film, which is still in progress and unlikely to finish by September. At the same time, Maruthi’s The Raja Saab needs to complete three songs and an action sequence before its December 5 release.
Sandeep wants Prabhas to give bulk dates and focus only on Spirit during the shoot, with no other films in between. Prabhas is known to handle multiple projects simultaneously, so this demand complicates the schedule. With Prabhas’ current commitments, a September start looks doubtful. Unless he clears his calendar soon, Spirit may be delayed further.
This film is highly anticipated as it brings together Sandeep and Prabhas for the first time. When it finally begins, it will be a major event in Telugu cinema. For now, fans will have to wait and watch if the September deadline is met or pushed again.
