The 71st National Film Awards honoured some of the most powerful performances and meaningful stories of the year. This time, the spotlight was clearly on films that carried strong emotions and real-life struggles.
The award for Best Film went to 12th Fail, a story about a student from a poor background who fights all odds to become an IPS officer. It is an inspiring film that shows how honesty, hard work, and never giving up can change a person’s life. The film connected with many viewers across the country.
Shah Rukh Khan won Best Actor for Jawan, a film where he played a common man standing up against corruption. His role was intense, emotional, and very different from what audiences usually see from him. Sharing the award with him was Vikrant Massey, who delivered a deeply moving performance in 12th Fail. His portrayal of a young man trying to pass a competitive exam showed real struggle and determination.
Rani Mukerji won Best Actress for Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway, a film based on a real story. She played a mother who fights alone against a foreign government to get back her children. Her performance was full of pain, strength, and courage. It was one of the most emotional roles of the year.
This year’s National Awards showed that strong writing, honest emotions, and true stories are still at the heart of great cinema.
