Manam Heads to Japan After Eleven Years

Tollywood Cult movie Manam is getting ready for a big theatrical release in Japan on August 8. This film was first released in 2014 and features three generations of the Akkineni family — ANR, Nagarjuna, and Naga Chaitanya. It was a big hit then and is remembered as the last movie of legendary actor ANR.

Director Vikram Kumar told a complex story in a very simple way, which helped the film connect with all kinds of viewers. Even when it was re released in a few theatres recently, it got full shows in Hyderabad. That shows how much love the film still receives.

Now the film is heading to Japan. This is not a new trend for Indian films, but releasing an old movie freshly in another country is a rare move. The reason is simple. Nagarjuna has a strong fan base in Japan after the release of Brahmastra. Fans there call him Nag Sama. In Japanese, Sama is a respectful word used for someone close or divine. Since then, they have been showing their love for him in different ways.

To celebrate the release, Nagarjuna will also join his Japanese fans through a video call on release day.

After the success of RRR, Japanese audiences are showing interest in Indian movies that have strong family emotions. They are not just looking for action and graphics. Films like Manam, which are full of feelings and family values, are becoming their favorites.

If Manam becomes successful, there is a chance that more Akkineni films like Hello Brother, Ninne Pelladatha, and Nuvvu Vastavani may also release there. The love for Nag Sama is clearly growing in Japan.
