Scary Side Of AI? Jobs Lost? Nara Lokesh Explains!

It is becoming increasingly inevitable that the world is getting more and more acclimated to artificial intelligence, almost on a daily basis. On that note, there are several apprehensions and doubts on whether AI revolution could be the end of human workforce in technological industries.

This crucial topic was brought up for a discussion in front of Andhra Pradesh IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, and he had a very composed and educated response to the same.

While taking part in a summit regarding the influence of artificial intelligence in human workforce in industries, Lokesh spoke about the scary side of AI and the apprehension about losing jobs.

I disagree. If you go back in history, every Industrial Revolution has created more jobs than it’s replaced. But it’s created jobs in countries or states that were ready to embrace the revolution. We have to embrace this change.

That’s my job as HRD and education minister, to create courses and curriculum to make AP’s youth ready for the AI and quantum computing wave, Lokesh said as he assured that AI will not necessarily grab all the jobs.

Good thing here is that Lokesh is vigilant enough to anticipate and assess the AI revolution and subsequently say he will make sure the AP youth are sufficiently trained in this model so that their future is more efficient and sorted.

This is the kind of proactive approach and vigilant thinking that an IT minister needs, and Lokesh is proving to be the right man for the job.
