Director’s Statement Sparks Curiosity Among Fans About War 2

For the past few days, fans and trade circles have been anxious with the dull advance bookings for Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s keenly awaited spy thriller, War 2. The film’s pre-sales are no match for the box office mayhem being unleashed by Rajinikanth’s Coolie.

However, fans are finally rejoicing with the mounting expectations following the grand pre-release event in Hyderabad on Sunday evening. Many opined that the event has boosted the expectations just when it was needed.

And a major credit for these soaring expectations for War 2 goes to the film’s director, Ayan Mukerji. In his speech last night, the director dropped two exciting updates on NTR’s character that did the trick and piqued fans’ curiosity and excitement.

Ayan revealed that fans are in for a real surprise when they walk into the theaters on August 14, as they have not yet revealed the actual soul of War 2 in any of the promos.

Ayan went on to say that War 2 is not just about action and that there will be the biggest emotional connection with NTR playing a lead role, hinting that Tarak’s character will be more than just performing action and that it will have an emotional backstory.

The icing on the cake was maverick Tollywood director Trivikram Srinivas acting as the translator for Ayan Mukerji. Trivikram, in his signature style, said that War 2 makers wouldn’t have approached NTR just to offer him an action role when the entire country knows what kind of an emotional performer he is. Well, needless to say, all eyes will be on this Independence Day weekend.
