There is a huge hype around Superstar Rajinikanth’s film Coolie, which is slated for release tomorrow. Not only in Tamil, but Coolie is witnessing sensational advance bookings in Telugu as well. Apart from Rajinikanth, the other major factor which is drawing people’s interest in Coolie is director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Lokesh is one of the top filmmakers in South India, who shot to fame with films like Kaithi, Master, Vikram and Leo. All these films ran well in Telugu as well. Additionally, his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) boasts a massive fan base among Telugu audiences.
The successes of Vikram and Leo made Lokesh a big director in AP and Telangana as well, on par with his Tamil stardom. Looking at Coolie’s rampage in bookings, people are thinking that if Lokesh does a film with a Telugu hero, he would create havoc at the box office.
Earlier, it was reported that Lokesh would team up with Telugu heroes like Prabhas and Ram Charan. However, nothing has been finalised. With a sensational response to Coolie, it remains to be seen if Lokesh chooses to work with a Telugu hero in the future, just like how Prashanth Neel opted to work with Prabhas and NTR after the KGF series.
Looking at Lokesh’s upcoming lineup, it seems he might not work with a Telugu actor in the near future, but Telugu film fans are eagerly waiting to see him collaborate with our star hero in the coming years.
