Two major releases arrived this week, but one film is completely dominating the box office. Superstar Rajinikanth and King Nagarjuna’s Coolie entered the Independence Day box office race with Young Tiger NTR and Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan’s action-packed War 2.
For several reasons, Coolie emerged as the top choice both before and after its release. Firstly, it’s nothing short of a casting coup, featuring some of India’s biggest superstars, including Aamir Khan. Directed by the highly successful Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film’s promotional content also made a powerful impact.
From domestic markets to overseas territories, Coolie is ruling the box office with record-breaking collections on Day 1. It stands as one of the biggest openers in Tamil cinema and marks the highest Day 1 grosser for Rajinikanth.
Thanks to Rajinikanth’s unmatched star power, Coolie continues to see strong bookings on Day 2. With a 4-day weekend ahead, expectations are soaring. Trade analysts predict that this commercially packed entertainer is set for a long, successful run at the box office.
