‘If Reviews Are Bad, Don’t Watch Paradha,’ Says Anupama

Reviews are super important, especially for smaller movies. Big-budget films with famous actors can draw a crowd no matter what the initial reviews say. However, for smaller films, positive reviews and word-of-mouth are essential for getting noticed. This sets the stage for discussing Anupama Parameswaran’s next movie, Paradha.

Anupama Parameswaran, well-known in Telugu cinema, is releasing Paradha, a social drama, in theaters on August 22. The movie also stars Darshana, Sangeetha, Gautham Menon, and Rajendra Prasad in significant supporting roles. It’s produced by Sreenivasulu P, Vijay Donkada, and Sridhar Makkuva, with music by Gopi Sundar.

At a recent event to promote Paradha, Anupama expressed something very honest about the movie’s reviews. She admitted that they don’t have enough money to bribe reviewers or cheat for better ratings. She said, “Any reviews for this movie will be genuine . So, only go see Paradha in theaters if the reviews are good. If not, feel free to skip it.”

Her words highlight a key aspect of the film world: if filmmakers focus solely on making a truly good movie, they won’t have to blame bad reviews for poor turnout. For small movies like Paradha, the early reviews and audience reactions are everything for generating interest and selling tickets. Anupama’s statement reflects real trust and excitement for the film . She is very confident that Paradha will win people over.

The way Anupama and her team are approaching this reveals something larger about smaller films. Audience opinions and honest reviews can make or break them. Paradha is aiming to let the movie speak for itself by emphasizing authentic reactions rather than merely creating hype. How well Paradha performs could serve as a great example of the importance of reviews and word-of-mouth in attracting viewers to smaller films . Paradha might want to utilize this to set a precedent for future projects . It will be interesting to see whether Paradha’s strategy will yield positive results .
