Director Krish Jagarlamudi has been going through a rough patch over the last few years. He hasn’t scored a hit in Telugu since the 2017 release Gautamiputra Satakarni. Many of his films, like NTR: Kathanayakudu, NTR: Mahanayakudu, Kondapolam and Hari Hara Veera Mallu, ended up as box-office failures.
Now, he is gearing up for the release of his next film, Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty. This movie is slated for release on September 5, clashing with the pan-India film Mirai. However, going by the latest buzz, Mirai may get postponed due to the delay in post-production works, and thus, Ghaati may mostly have a solo release during that weekend.
If Ghaati gets a solo release, it is a good chance for Krish to make a solid comeback. Until now, Ghaati failed to create a big buzz, but if makers promote it well over the next couple of weeks, and with the help of Anushka’s stardom, it may get good openings.
Meanwhile, a few films may also get preponed if Mirai gets postponed. On the other side, AR Murugadoss and Siva Karthikeyan’s Tamil-dubbed film “Madharaasi” is also releasing on the same day. But it may not pose a big threat to Ghaati like Mirai. So, it remains to be seen how Krish and his team uses this advantage of solo release.
