The rise of Telugu cinema to its current global stature owes much to a handful of visionaries, and Megastar Chiranjeevi stands at the forefront of this history. As he celebrates his 70th birthday today, the industry reflects on his pivotal role in shaping Tollywood’s reputation beyond regional confines.

Chiranjeevi broke barriers in the 1980s and 1990s when Telugu cinema was largely regional.
