Collection King Mohan Babu has been very picky about the projects he is doing in his second innings as a character artist. Although he is not completely off the radar, he is ensuring to have at least one release every two years. However, lately, he seems to be showing interest in being part of films directed by new-age filmmakers.
In recent times, the casting of Mohan Babu as the main antagonist in Nani’s The Paradise surprised the audience. Mohan Babu’s look is reportedly going to be a revelation, according to the sources. The actor immensely liked the script and decided to give it a try to work in the direction of Srikanth Odela, who is known for the raw and rustic style of filmmaking.
Mohan Babu is also now reportedly in talks for the Telugu debut of Super Star Krishna’s grandson, Jaya Krishna. The selection of Mohan Babu for this project, by director Ajay Bhupathi of RX100 fame, is again surprising. Jaya Krishna is a young hero who is yet to showcase his potential. But if Mohan Babu is coming on board, there is something special about the script or the character he is playing.
On the other hand, Mohan Babu is also actively listening to new scripts and is reportedly in talks for a Tamil biggie. Especially after Kannappa, Mohan Babu is trying to keep himself engaged as much as possible. We have to see if this approach works for him in his 70s.
