September is shaping up to be a busy month for Telugu films. Many small and medium films are releasing every week. Before Dasara on September 25, Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG is scheduled to hit theatres.
On September 5, films like Anushka Shetty’s Ghaati, Siva Karthikeyan’s Madharaasi (dubbed), and Little Hearts will release. Teja Sajja’s Mirai, produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, was also supposed to release on September 5 but was postponed by a week. Its new release date is now September 12.
Bellamkonda Srinivas’ Kishkindhapuri, produced by Sahu Garapati, had announced September 12 as its release date earlier this year. Today, the team held a trailer launch event in Hyderabad.
When asked about the clash with Mirai, Sahu Garapati said, “It will be decided on September 12 who will suffer. The Mirai team did not inform us about their change of plans. If they had, we could have found a solution. Since they didn’t, we are sticking to our date.”
He added that it would be good if filmmakers coordinate to avoid release clashes, but right now there is nothing they can do.
Kishkindhapuri is a horror thriller starring Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Anupama Parameshwaran, with music by Chaitan Bharadwaj. The film has moderate expectations, but if audiences like it, it can do well at the box office.
