Mirai: PMF Makes 20 Cr Table Profit!

Ever since Mirai was announced, excitement has been steadily building, with each new update captivating the audience. This growing wave of positivity has helped the production house, People Media Factory, bounce back after a string of underwhelming box office performances.

Made on a budget of 60 crores, Mirai was crafted to look grand and visually stunning. But even before its theatrical release on September 12, the film has already turned a profit maker. The producers have reportedly earned 45 crores from non-theatrical rights alone, securing a table profit of 20 crores ahead of release. In today’s challenging film market, that’s no small achievement.

This year, several big-budget and mid-range films have failed to recover costs, with many chasing the pan-India trend through unrealistic budgets. But Mirai star Teja Sajja has taken a different route, opting for smart, calculated choices that lead to commercially viable films.

Interestingly, although several buyers were willing to pay a premium for the theatrical rights, the producers chose to release the film themselves. This move reflects their strong confidence in the content, especially after the trailer received a phenomenal response across multiple languages.

Mirai proves that it’s possible to create a high-quality film without overspending or relying on star power. PMF seems to have struck the perfect balance between cost and quality, showing that great cinema doesn’t need inflated budgets or marquee names. They’re setting a new benchmark for how films can, and perhaps should, be made.
