A day after Aishwarya Rai Bachchan moved to Delhi court over a plea against infringers in order to protect her publicity and personality rights, her husband Abhishek Bachchan also filed a similar plea with the Delhi High Court. Similar to Aishwarya, Abhishek also urged the court to protect his publicity and personality rights and to restrain websites and platforms from using his image, likeness, and fake videos.
The advocate representing Abhishek Bachchan argued that the defendants are creating AI-generated videos of the actor and creating fake photos signed by him and also sexually explicit material. His counsel also argued that the unauthorised use of his name, likeness, and AI-generated fake material is part of a larger trend of online fraud targeting celebrities. In her plea too, Aishwarya has argued the same.
Like Aishwarya, Abhishek Bachchan also wanted the court to extend the order to “John Doe” defendants—unidentified parties that may host similar infringing material in the future. John Doe is a type of court order against unidentified parties in intellectual property and personality rights cases.
On the work front, Abhishek was last seen in Kaalidhar Laapata and will next be seen in King as well as Raja Shivaji.
