Deepika Padukone Out of Kalki 2, Vanga Effect?

Kalki 2898 AD is one of the super successful movies, and the presence of Deepika Padukone helped the movie get a big reach. The pairing of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone is also liked by many. However, shocking many, Vyjayanthi Movies officially confirmed that Deepika Padukone will no longer be associated with the project, which means that she will be replaced in the second part.

Taking to X this morning, the production house tweeted, “This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, We have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works.”

Now, the discussions as to why this fallout happened are picking up speed among the film circles. On one side, a few are claiming that Deepika’s fiasco with Team Spirit could have triggered this development with Kalki, but the chances are very low. A production house like Vyjayanthi Movies, which carries a legacy, can not take such hasty decisions to satisfy anyone’s ego. On the other side, a few claim that the actress is really putting forward some unrealsitic demands.

In reality, the tweet from the producers could open many speculations. The last line says that a project like Kalki deserves a particular commitment, which they find missing from Deepika. Additionally, they also stressed the fact that they were unable to find a partnership despite a long journey on the film’s first part. Earlier, Deepika reportedly asked for lesser call sheet duration and some unnecessary demands for her staff, which put off Sandeep Vanga, who replaced her with Tripti Dimri.

Now, team Kalki is already experiencing delays, and it seems that the discussions with Deepika could have actually delayed the project. She might have repeated similar demands, much to the contrary of what she agreed upon while signing the film’s first part. Whatever it may be, getting replaced from two pan-India projects, starring Prabhas, would surely affect her reputation despite her PR team trying to control the damage that may happen.

On the work front, Deepika currently has King and Allu Arjun Atlee project in her hand and nothing else.
