Nandamuri Balakrishna is busy with the shooting of Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Sreenu. The film is the sequel to his 2021 blockbuster Akhanda. Once the shoot is completed, Balakrishna will start his next project with director Gopichand Mallineni. The actor and director earlier worked together in 2023 for Veera Simha Reddy.
Gopichand Mallineni, who recently entered Bollywood with Jaat starring Sunny Deol, is putting a lot of effort into this new film. The project is planned as a historical action drama with heavy use of VFX. Music director Thaman, who is already part of the team, revealed that Gopichand has been spending a lot of time on pre-production. He also said that the director is working on something very different, with pre-visualization already underway.
The latest update is that Arvind Kashyap, the cinematographer of Kantara, has been roped in as the DOP for this project, tentatively titled NBK111. Kashyap is well known in Kannada cinema for films like Dayavittu Gamanisi, Bell Bottom, and 777 Charlie. His work in Kantara Chapter 1 received a lot of appreciation for its striking visuals. His addition is expected to give the film a strong visual edge.
NBK111 is being planned as a large-scale historical action drama and will be produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner Vriddhi Cinemas. The makers are planning to launch the film officially on October 24.
