AKT Teaser: A Superfan’s Biopic

Ram Pothineni, who is aiming for a solid comeback, is now returning to the big screens with his new film, “Andhra King Taluka”. Directed by Mahesh Babu P of “Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty” fame, this movie features Bhagyashri Bhorse as the female lead. Kannada star hero Upendra played a pivotal role in it. Touted as the biopic of an average film star fan, the movie’s teaser was unveiled today.

The teaser introduces Ram as a die-hard fan of “Andhra King” Surya (Upendra), who would go to any extent for the sake of his favourite hero. Later, we get introduced to his lady love (Bhagyashri Bhorse) and the romantic track between them.

Then come the fan wars that we regularly see in Telugu states. On the whole, the teaser showcases the life of an average fan we come across in our daily lives. His journey, his love towards the hero he admires and what he achieves from that love might be the main crux of the film.

The ending dialogue, “Fan-u, fan-u ani nuvvu guddalu chimpeskodame kani nuvvu okadvi unnavu annatu aa hero ki kuda telidu. Em bathukulu ra meevi,” reflects the harsh reality and might be the turning point of the hero’s journey in the film.

The film looks like a unique attempt from Ram, which is presented in a commercial way. The background score by Vivek & Mervin is appealing, and the cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni is stunning.

Featuring Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Satya, Rahul Ramakrishna, and VTV Ganesh in other key roles, Andhra King Taluka is slated for a worldwide release on November 28. Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling the project.
