“We Waited 15 Years to Get Married,” Says Keerthy Suresh

Keerthy Suresh recently appeared on Jagapathi Babu’s talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa, where she opened up about her long relationship with her husband, Antony Thattil. The actress shared that their love story began during her college days and lasted 15 years before they finally tied the knot in 2024.

Keerthy revealed that she and Antony started relationship in 2010, long before she entered the film industry. “We needed time. I had to finish college and build my career. For about five to six years, we were in a long-distance relationship, he was in Qatar, and I was in Chennai. Once he returned to India, we both needed time to settle,” she said.

She also mentioned that she initially feared her family might not agree to the marriage because of religious differences. “At home, we thought religion might become an issue. Four years ago, I spoke to my dad about Antony, and he made it so easy. It was nothing like I imagined,” Keerthy recalled, adding that her father even poured Antony a drink to celebrate. Keerthy is the daughter of Malayalam producer G. Suresh Kumar and actress Menaka.

Keerthy also shared a personal story about her pet dog, Nyke. Antony had gifted her the puppy after Mahanati success in 2018, at a time when their relationship was still private. “I wanted to honour our bond somehow, so I named the dog Nyke, ‘Ny’ from Antony and ‘Ke’ from Keerthy,” she said.

After keeping their relationship private for many years, Keerthy and Antony got married in Goa on December 12, 2024. The couple had both Hindu and Christian wedding ceremonies. On the work front, Keerthy was last seen in Baby John and Uppu Kappurambu. Her upcoming films include Revolver Rita and Rowdy Janardhana with Vijay Deverakonda.
