Will This Dude Take A “Straight” Path In Telugu?

After scoring two consecutive hits with Love Today and Dragon, Pradeep Ranganathan is now gearing up for the release of his next film, Dude. Directed by Keerthiswaran, this movie features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Dude is slated for worldwide release on October 17.

Already, Pradeep scored two back-to-back hits as an actor and enjoys equal popularity in both Tamil and Telugu. Now, if Dude becomes a hit, he would be one of the most happening young actors in both industries. Then, it remains to be seen if he continues to do Tamil films and also opts for doing a few straight Telugu films, like Dulquer Salmaan.

As a Telugu banner is backing Dude, the film is getting a wide release in AP and Telangana. Moreover, due to Pradeep’s popularity, there are good expectations for the film among Telugu audiences.

Pradeep just needs to score a success, which can cement his position as one of the bankable heroes in the Telugu states. Already, Pradeep has clarified that he is not in the mood to get back on track at the moment and is solely focusing on acting.

So, if Dude becomes a hit, he may get offers from both the Telugu and Tamil film industries from big banners or directors. But it remains to be seen if he opts to do only Tamil films and dub them into Telugu, or if he chooses to do a few straight Telugu films. If he opts for the latter, he might become a popular star here too, once people own him like the way they owned Dulquer for films like Mahanati and Lucky Baskhar.
