16-Year-Old Mallu Girl Anikha Set For T’wood Debut

Tollywood is facing the scarcity of heroines. This is forcing producers to hunt for young, talented and beautiful actresses from neighbouring states. The makers of Sithara Entertainments have roped in a 16-year-old young actress for their next. The girl in question is Anikha Surendran. She was popular by the name ‘Baby Anikha’ in Malayalam film industry. Anikha is known for her acting prowess and expressions. She has also received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2013. She is also known in Tamil film industry. Anika acted as the daughter of Ajith in Gautham Menon’s Entha Vaadu Gaani (Yennai Arindhaal in Tamil) and got noticed well. She was also seen in Ajith’s Viswasam. Both these roles made her popular among Tamil audiences.

Now, Anikha is turning into a heroine in Telugu. She is going to be the lead heroine in the Kappela Telugu remake whilst the original role saw Anna Ben who had garnered critical acclaim. Buzz is that Vishwak Sen is considered to play the male lead while the makers are hunting for another male actor. However, it is not clear who is going to helm the Kappela Telugu remake. The same production house has earlier remade Premam in Telugu and is all set for the remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum with Pawan Kalyan. So, the Kappela remake is making the right noise in Telugu given its huge success on digital platform Netflix.
