Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude and Dhruv Vikram’s Bison were the major contenders in the Diwali race in the Tamil film industry. Both films are of different genres and cater to different sections of the audience.
Due to its youthful and commercial appeal, Dude remained ahead in this competition. However, Bison showed an edge over Dude in the domestic ticket sales during the second weekend.
Despite generating mixed responses from both Telugu and Tamil audiences due to its limited appeal, Bison managed to stay ahead of Dude in BookMyShow trends on Friday and Saturday. Bison’s Telugu release this Friday also helped it get more sales than Dude this weekend.
On Friday, 41.44k tickets of Dude were sold while Bison witnessed ticket sales of around 45.56k. On Saturday, 60.99k tickets of Dude were sold, and Bison managed to sell 68.38k tickets. Going by this trend, Bison is expected to maintain its domination on Sunday as well.
Though Dude is ahead in the race, Bison started giving tough competition in the second weekend. It remains to be seen how the film performs in the coming weekdays, as there were no notable releases in Tamil or Telugu this weekend.
