One of the prime benefactors during the lockdown series are TV channels and OTT platforms. With them being the sole entertainment factor for audiences, there is a huge rise in the number of viewers attached to these platforms.
For example, if we look into the TRPs registered by Mahesh Babu’s Sankranthi blockbuster films Sarileru Neekevvaru other day, the trend will be understood clearly. Beating the biggest films like Baahubali 2 that got highest TRP of 22.7, now Sarileru Neekevvaru registered 23.4 TRP other day. With almost all the audiences at home, naturally, we could expect the TRPs to surge and that’s what happened. The film was streamed on Gemini TV other day.
On the other hand, TV channels are looking forward to re-stream some hit films and stream other films at the earliest, before the April 15th lockdown goes up. That way they want to get more TRPs and more ad revenues. So get ready for a terrific showdown from Telugu channels now.
