Prithviraj Sukumaran – What a Man, What a Growth!

Malayalam superstar and multifaceted artist Prithviraj Sukumaran is at the pinnacle of his career because he not only scored back-to-back blockbusters with recent films like The Goat Life and L2 : Empuraan but also turned out to be the most-sought-after actor for prominent author backed roles in pan-India biggies. On the top of all this, he is set to grab attention of moviegoers worldwide with SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated globe-trotting adventure drama SSMB29. 

As the first look poster of Prithviraj Sukumaran was unveiled earlier today amid huge anticipation ahead of the much awaited teaser launch event of this Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra starrer,  there has been a lot of discussion on how this highly talented Malayalam actor built his career step by step in Mollywood and then started slowly gaining recognition beyond Kerala with his versatility and multifarious talents. He is now set to go global with SSMB29 in which he plays the role of Kumbha, a futuristic antagonist. 

Though he acted in over 100 films across different languages and won numerous laurels for his performances, Prithviraj never dreamt of being cast in SS Rajamouli’s SSMB29 and Prasanth Neel’s Salaar. He himself revealed during one of his interviews before the release of Salaar Part 1 that it was like a dream come true moment when he was signed up for pivotal roles in such pan-India films. 

Prithviraj openly admitted that Kerala actors like him never really think of playing the central characters in big-budget films because they hail from Malayalam film industry which is relatively smaller compared to others. This honest and humbling revelation from the actor surprised many at that time. Later, his incredible performance as Vardha Raja Mannar in Salaar made him extremely popular all over the country. 

Now that response for his first look poster from SSMB29 has been quite phenomenal, Prithviraj has turned out to be the man of the moment and upped his game further. Moreover, Rajamouli’s also openly acknowledged that Prithviraj is one of the finest actors he has ever known. So, his craze is now bound to rise beyond India after the release of SSMB29. 

As Rajamouli is known for presenting his villians in ruthless and menacing avatars while extracting the best performances from them, Prithviraj Sukumaran will have a career defining character in this film for sure. With stakes riding high and Rajamouli targeting a massive international release, it is only going to put him in a league that no other Malayalam actor has ever reached.
