BMW for Sankranti 2026 – Blind Mistake by Ravi Teja?

Once a bankable actor for trade circles, Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is now reeling under flops after many of his recent films sank at the box office on the first day itself. In the last ten years, Ravi Teja has delivered only a handful of hits and bagged a spate of debacles due to his poor story selection. He is facing acute criticism from his own fans for taking audience for granted and for not assessing his choice of scripts.

After his latest film Mass Jathara turned out to be another huge disappointment, his upcoming film with Kishore Tirumala is going to be a make or break attempt. The film is hilariously titled Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi and the humorous first glimpse evoked a unanimous response from all quarters after it was unveiled this Monday afternoon. It appears like the film is going to be a laugh riot and has all ingredients to attract family audience during the festival season.

But, it will a huge gamble by Ravi Teja to release his film amid fierce competition during Sankranti. Though the content in the glimpse suggests that Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi will be hilarious drama and can strike a chord with the masses, there will be considerable impact on the film’s collections due to the clash from other releases.

Sankranti 2026 will witness a flurry of releases. Biggies like The Raja Saab and Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu will occupy majority of screens. Both films are carrying massive expectations. Moreover, Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju is also targeting the same week. Even Sharwanand is also in race with his upcoming film Nari Nari Naduma Murari. There are two Tamil releases like Vijay’s Jana Nayakudu and Siva Karthikeyan’s Parashakthi. Among these, Vijay’s Jana Nayakudu is expected to get a fair share of screens since it’s his last film.

Amid this scenario, even if Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi manages to secure positive response, the theatrical run will depend on how other films perform at the box office. As Ravi Teja is going through the toughest phase in his career, it would have been ideal if he avoids clash with big-ticket films and secure a solo date or at least opt for a season with lesser competition to make a strong comeback.

The team’s strategy to take advantage of the festival atmosphere and garner strong openings might not work much given the hectic competition this time.
